Layout's up!

Wednesday, September 7, 2011
11.54pm Wednesday, 7th September 2011

Yay! Blog layout is up! Took me quite a while to search for this layout template. Gotten my latest template here! Pretty decent site with lovely templates.

I had to tweak the template a little to suit my blog though. And as you might have (or have not. =/ ) noticed, my Eye Candies and Links section on the right is gone. I'm obviously upset about it, but I'm sick of working on the layout for now.

It's rather stressful for a non IT-geek to work on html and codings for a couple of hours just to get the layout right. And just when you thought everything is perfect and working in order, you realised some of your eye candies on the side is missing. That kind of puts you off, you know?

So, anyway, I'll work on that another time.

Work has been rather interesting today, despite the fact that I'm still down with my flu.

For one, we've gotten our uniforms! No pictures (yet. Or ever.), because it's yet to be completely finalized. Whichever piece of clothe that needed to be adjusted had to be given back to the supplier, so I won't be wearing the uniforms just yet.

Similarly ugly, though not as embarrassing.

Still, free clothes! (albeit rather ugly ones...)

And another thing is, I'm allowed to join my colleagues on a trip to Phuket next month! Due to some unavoidable circumstances, one of my colleague was unable to go. And so, there's an open spot for me!

Phuket, here I come!

I'll have to pay RM300.00 for the flight tickets' change of name, but I still think it's a pretty decent deal for me. So, yea. If all goes well, I'll get to go to Phuket! I'm so psyche for the trip!

Cooked

Sunday, September 4, 2011

3.43pm, Sunday, 4-Sept-2011

Cooked. Yes, cooked. That is what my brain is capable of thinking after a crappy fever yesterday. And wow, it's been over a year since my last post!

I've forgotten my account password (as usual), my blog layout is dead, and there's so many things to share!

So, what's new? I'll see what I can cook up with my fever-fried brain;

I'm currently watching Ugly Betty! Shut up, I'm not outdated. I just choose to watch it now. Period.
America Ferrera, you're amazing!

Oh, and btw, I've gotten hooked on to Glee too. And Darren Criss. Did I mention that I'm listening to their songs as I'm typing this out? Awesome series, it's as if I'm on crack.

Glee! Season 3 promo. Can't wait for Sept 20 for S03E01!

Speaking of crack, I've been hooked on Cracked as well. It's one heck of an entertaining website with almost credible facts. I mean, Wikipedia is a good reference, right? Right?? But seriously, it's not as bad as I made it seem. This should have you convinced to stay and check the site out. After all that's what it did to me!

I've changed my job for the 3rd time and is, once again, back to working in Kota Kemuning. It's a decently huge property company, and while I don't get as much perks as I do back in my days working in an MNC, at least I'm getting job satisfaction here.

'Cause really, accounting? Like I'll ever be happy.

Surprise surprise, I have a boyfriend! My first ever serious relationship. Whom I don't feel comfortable letting my friends know about. Who, btw, isn't that crush that I was talking about a few posts back. Urgh, I don't even know why I brought this topic up. Still, we lasted 9 months. I mean, we've been dating for 9 months. So whatever happens, it's still a personal best for me. And I know that's mean of me to say that. But for someone who can't last in an open relationship longer than 3 months, that's saying a lot.

On to a brighter note, I went to Singapore earlier this year! Yay! It was great to walk on the streets without having to worry about pickpockets. Or kidnappers. That shows how "safe" our Malaysian streets are, with their kidnappers and acid splashers.

I've also started going to the gym and have taken up swimming as well to keep myself fit. Though it's rather ironic, since I fell sick from my swimming session last Friday...

Also, if you've read my previous post, I've since dyed my hair, permed it, and is going to cut my hair yet again. If I hadn't fell sick, I would've went to my favourite hairstylist and gotten a haircut already. Shoulder length, maybe? Hmm...

And... I can't think of what I had wanted to say next. So I shall leave now and try to fix my blog layout.

About time, ain't it?

Sunday, April 25, 2010
4.23pm, Sunday April 25th 2010

I've just trimmed my hair in Michael & Guys. For once, I had a decent hair cut! My hair isn't too short, with minimal layering done by a senior hairstylist! (who btw, is a she-him. But tomboy or aqua, I don't mind so long as they don't wreck my hair!)

No change in my hairstyle though, coz I'm still trying to figure out what hairstyle suits me best, but also won't take much effort in maintaining it.

Don't get me wrong. I love playing with my hair, really. But when you need to spend an hour every morning to tame and style your hair before you leave your room, that's just too much...

But no matter what, I'm still bored of my same old, same old hair style. Instead of perming or opting for a short hairstyle (not now. Maybe in a few years time..?), I decided to colour my hair. No, I won't be doing it at the saloon. It'll cost me a good rm250, and I'm not filthy rich. Yet. =P

So whats a girl on budget got do? DIY of course! Hehe... ;)

I'll be using Prettia Hair Colour, which I'd bought from a seller in Lowyat forums, to give my hair some attention for once. No, I'm not going blonde. I'm not that much of an attention seeker.

Will be dyeing my hair sometime this week. So I'll talk about the hair dye and its results in my upcoming post!

and ... I also ordered a hair curler, 25mm in diameter. I'll get to make big curls and wavy hairstyle now babeh!

It should be coming in around this week. (I love Lowyat forum to bits, I seriously do. But I swear it'll be the death of me one day =.='') So I'll get to play with it next weekend! Crap I forgot to get thermal hair lotion for my hair. Lets just hope I don't fry my hair... fingers crossed!

Jalan-jalan, cari makan! - Malacca

Saturday, February 13, 2010
9.37pm, 13 February 2010

----------
Due to the lack of internet and personal time at home, I've gotten myself a notebook to pen down my thoughts. It's been a rather frustrating and stressful week so there's nothing much for me to update here anyway.
Or so I thought... =P And here I thought it'll be a short entry!
----------

I went to Melacca with Wing, Adrian, Lynn, Chu, Tiffany, Justin and Shine on the 8th to 10th of January for a... random trip, I suppose. Lolz.

Justin, Lynn, and Adrian, after a series of failed photo-taking.

We stayed in a guest house a street behind Jonker Street (if I'm not wrong) called Jalan Jalan. Cool name, huh? XD

Literal translation: Walk walk. Lolz

The owner, Sam, is this quiet and cool Chinese dude who pretty much runs the whole place - like, literally. He washes the bed sheets/etc (with a washing machine, of course), sweeps and mops the place, tend to his customers, everything, and all by himself! Salute wei!

That's Sam, on the far left. =D

The place has a very antique look to it, since it's probably more than twice as old as I am. The bedrooms upstairs mostly have wooden floors, and beds with mosquito nettings. Me and Shine got the corner room, so it was real cooling and windy at night. =)

A board for the guesthouse customers to stick random notes on. Did you see what I see...? XDD

Our home for the weekend

Playing UNO at 2 in the morning.

Justin and Shine warned me about the morning prayers that a mosque nearby will conduct every morning, but I slept like a log, both days! XD

Waiting for Wing, Adrian, Lynn and Tiff who stayed in a different guesthouse, though it's also under Sam's ownership. Notice how much nicer and comfortable it is compared to the previous guesthouse??! Lucky chicks...

The one thing I had a problem with was their bathroom. They only had one bathroom, and a unisex toilet. I guess they usually won't have alot of people using it, but still, one bathroom? We had to queue to bath! @_@ But oh well, maybe I'm just being picky.

Oh, speaking about their bathroom, it's not connected to the guesthouse (but still within the house' compound area), so you have to walk past this small garden just to ease yourself. And watch where you're going when you need to do your business at night, because on the way to the bathroom, you'll pass by...

A well...

Damn creepy okay! Especially at night, since it's not brightly lit. So it'll look something like this...

Did you see anything crawling out...? =P Well I hope not. @_@''

Ok... enough with the enchanting guesthouse. We pretty much had a food trip there, since we spent the most on food - laksa, chicken rice, cendol, ais kacang, seafood, etc. There was no end to it! We were almost always biting on something that one of us bought while we walk through Jonker Street!

The famous chicken rice ball. Nothing special.

Food from various stalls in Jonker Street.

Chaos when the food finally arrived. Lots of hisses and rawrs!

The fastest way to get to your food is to quietly let your camwhoring friends take pictures of the food. The faster they're done, the faster you get your nom!

Of course, walking isn't enough for this random group of punks (I seriously wonder why I'm a part of them @_@) so on Saturday, we rented bicycles and cycled to Mahkota Parade.

Chained our bikes together outside McD, right next to Mahkota Parade.

Lynn ordering food (again) a couple of hours after our chicken rice ball lunch. She's damn awesome lor, can eat like no body's business and still stay cute and pretty! Check out her candy coloured nails!

We lepak-ed in Mahkota Parade for some time with a friend of Wing and Justin (the friend was in the same course as both of them) before headng off to the Portugese settlement for seafood!

Oh, in case I forgot to mention, we cycled all the way from Mahkota Parade to the Portugese Settlement too. =) Check out our route (pic below), kindly drawn by our organizer/tour guide for the trip, Justin.

Took us over an hour to get there wei! (okay lar, that included waiting for a friend of ours who can't cycle...but still. One hour!)

I'm not sure if it's really that complicated, but hell yeah it's as frustrating getting there as he'd drawn it!

Truth be told, for the trouble we've gone through to get to the Portugese Settlement, I think we deserved better lor...

I've had better seafood than their so-called famous "fresh and cheap seafood". Their crab wasn't fresh, and for the overall price I paid, I felt cheated. Especially since I had to cycle all the way there and back... thank god there's a short cut we can take on our way back!

Pepper-baked crab. It would've been great if it was fresh.

And so we cycled back after dinner... took a short rest, and some of us took off again to Jonker Street for snacks while the others took their bath! Yeah, makan lagi! XD

Went to Geographer for a drink after Jonker Street is closed.

And did lotsa some mildly crazy stuff

So yeah... that pretty much sums up the whole Malacca food trip with a bunch of whacky college friends. =) Of course there's more than what you see and read here, but I think a scrapbook/picture book would be more appropriate.

Besides, it sucks up alot of my time to blog this out online, uploading pictures and all. =X It was fun recalling what happened during the trip tho. XD

So come on, Harvey Norman! Start your RM0.35 picture promotion again! I have pictures to print!

One last note before I run off, Happy Chinese New Year to everyone! Hope you'll have a RAWRING year ahead! =D

Quickie @ Work

Friday, January 29, 2010

3.52pm, Friday, 29 January 2010

It’s amazing the things that you’re exposed to when you work in an MNC with a large and varied headcount. One of aspects that I got to enjoy is FOOD!

Seriously, you get to enjoy tonnes of food from all over the place! As I’m typing this, I have 3 mandarin oranges on my desk which I’ve yet to touch, and a small container of red beans dessert. I’ve been fortunate enough to have nom-ed on:

Chocolates from Hong Kong and Belgium,

Pomelo fruits from Ipoh (I don’t know how my colleagues had time to buy these. Hello? They’re on a business trip wei, still got time to buy fruits and Old Town White Coffee ah? Geez…)

Variety of biscuits from Melaka (My colleagues buy in bulk to share with the department whenever she goes back to her hometown. The supply lasts for days. =.=)

Sweets, snacks and biscuits from… wherever. (I had a sugar rush the morning after Christmas holidays when everyone came back with free food and sweets.)

Mooncakes. Lots of ‘em. And I’m not even a fan of mooncakes!

Kek Lapis from Sarawak (or was it Sabah?)

And the weirdest thing of all (to date) – pickled/dried mango…sweet(?), all the way from a supplier from Thailand. It’s a strange thing, I tell ya. I presume it’s dried, sliced mangoes, rolled up to look like those love letter biscuits. You can’t taste or smell any mango in it, and while it’s sweet, it has a slight twinge of sour taste in it. (Something like those dried prunes, me thinks)

Strangely, its taste reminds me of raisins or dried prunes... Texture is somewhat similar too, real chewy, and somewhat… sticky.

Oh, the branch HR executive just came over, and she brought biscuits! I’m off for tea! =)

On a side note: I have lots of drafts and unfinished posts in my blog. I'll need to work on them soon!

I hate days like this

Sunday, December 27, 2009
11.06pm, Sunday, 27th December 2009

It's exceptionally hard to motivate myself to prepare mentally for work after a long weekend...

Especially when I have to help out with housework and such in preparation for my bro's wedding and CNY. I don't even have the mood to prepare the decorations! *le gasp!* This is so not me at all.

Sighs... is this what you call a burnout from overwork? I can't believe I'm willing to call it quits after working for a mere 5 months. Maybe continuing my studies is a better option...?

Or maybe I'm just not suited to work in the corporate world. I sincerely miss working in Shah Alam. Maybe I should try applying for a small company and move out (and thus prevent any nagging I'll get from my parents for quitting a job in an MNC.)

God, I can't imagine doing this (as in, working as an account assitant/executive) for the rest of my life. Can I try out marketing? Hmm... now where did I put that name card that lovely brand manager gave me...?

P/S: Ish listening to Mika - Rain, hence the title. =)

Oh noes...

Remember that crush I mentioned in my previous post?

Yeah... I think he's a player.

And I think I'm majorly crushing on him.

Crap.

On a side note, Merry Christmas, peoples! Hope you had a great one this year!
