Paper quilling

Friday, October 17, 2008
I have always been interested in arts and craft, though i'm pretty much a talent-less freak in that department - I can't draw, i can't paint. Heck, i can't even draw a circle properly!

It wasn't until recently (and by recently, i meant a few months back =P) that i found out about the beautiful and colourful world of paper crafts! Most would know about origami, or maybe even scrap booking. But have anyone heard about paper quilling?

If you're too lazy to Google it up, let me explain to you. It's a very simple form or paper art, where you take thin stripes of coloured paper, roll it up, make it into shapes that you desire, and stick it according to your design! It's as easy as that!

Don't get what i mean? Let the picturs do the talking then! See, i'm so kind to explain and illustrate for you non-existential readers to see. =P (yeah lar, i just wanted to show off my work of art.)

My first quilled flower! =)
Idea was not originally mine. Stole some of the design somewhere :P

See the details? Purty...

Done during the sem break, given to a friend as a birthday card.

Of course, there are many, many other quilling designs other than these. If you'd prefer to look at some other work of art that is not amateurish-ly done by yours faithfully, do check out Inna's Creation! She's a darling in crafts, and that includes paper quilling!

Enough of paper quilling for now. After all, paper quilling part 2 will definitely be coming soon. I'll talk more about it then, together with my wonderful work of art! Hehehe...

Non-existential readers? I exist! =P

Anyway, the quilled flower looks very beautiful! Very creative! Never seen that kind of art work before! I'm amazed by your talent!

The yellow flowers are nice too! =)
